A Fresno man was arrested in the early hours of Feb. 22 in connection with a shooting of a man the night before, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.

George Fang, 33, is believed to have shot a man he knows during an argument, authorities said.

Just before 7:30 p.m. Feb. 21, deputies responded to a call of shots fired at a home in the 3100 block of South Fig Avenue. They found a 26-year-old victim.

The man was rushed to the hospital and had emergency surgery. He was listed in stable condition, authorities said.

An investigation revealed the victim had been talking with Fang and then the two argued, authorities said. They believe Fang shot the victim and fled in a vehicle.

Later that night, Fresno police found Fang during a different call. Officers contacted sheriff’s detectives, and they talked with Fang about his possible connection to the shooting.

Fang was arrested around 12:40 a.m. and booked into Fresno County Jail on charges of attempted murder and discharging a firearm.
