One man was arrested Monday night after Fresno police said he committed two robberies and assaulting two men earlier that day in central Fresno.

Three adult male suspects followed a 16-year-old boy around 3 p.m. Monday near Tollhouse Park on Millbrook and Ashlan avenues, where they assaulted the teen and took his property. The boy was transported to the hospital, where he was later released.

Six hours later, two adult male suspects assaulted another male victim in the same neighborhood, taking his cell phone.

Officers tracked the stolen cell phone to a nearby residence where they arrested Marcos Rangel, 18, who was in possession of the property. Rangel was also linked to the first robbery and was booked into the Fresno County Jail on two counts, police said.

Two additional unknown suspects in the case have yet to be identified. They are described as approximately 18 years old. Anyone with any information about the identity of the additional suspects is encouraged to call Detective Dan Godwin at 559-621-6408. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 559-498-STOP.
