Fresno County detectives seek information on man found in canal

Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public’s help in the case of a man found dead in the California Aqueduct near Three Rocks on Feb. 22.

Detectives are asking for any information on the whereabouts of Vidal Zepeda, 39, of Gilroy prior to his death. His body was found at 9 a.m. on Feb. 22 in the canal between Clarkson and Elkhorn avenues.

Zepeda was last heard from by family at 3 p.m. Feb. 4, and he was reported missing on Feb. 6. Later that day, officers found Zepeda’s vehicle, a silver 2012 Ford Flex, parked in a pistachio orchard near Highway 33 and Clarkson Avenue.
