A Bulldog gang member was taken into custody Monday afternoon after shots were fired into a home in southeast Fresno, police reported.

Sgt. Jerardo Chamalbide said officers sped to the 4800 block of East Lane Avenue, near the major intersections of Kings Canyon and Lane avenues, where the gunfire was reported about 5:30 p.m. They learned a white BMW might be involved.

Chamalbide said the officers, Fernando Rosario and Drew Vanzant, saw a white BMW driving into the Ranchwood condominiums at Lane and Chestnut avenues. When they stopped the BMW, a passenger ran into the complex holding a handgun. The driver, Alex Mora, was arrested.

A search team located the second suspect’s clothing and a loaded 40-caliber handgun, but he was not found. Detectives obtained a confession from Mora and he was booked into Fresno County Jail on a charge of shooting into an inhabited dwelling.
