Three arrested in Visalia DUI patrol

Three people were arrested during a Visalia Police DUI saturation patrol Friday night and early Saturday morning, the police department said.

Visalia residents Martha Magallanes, 28, and Victor Maldonado, 28, were arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle.

Jorge Lua, 30, of Cutler, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a concealed weapon.

During the patrol conducted by Visalia Police Department, 47 vehicles were stopped and 10 field sobriety tests given. No drivers were cited for DUI, Visalia police said.

The patrol began at 9 p.m. Friday and ended at 3 a.m. Saturday. Three citations for driving without a license issued, along with 25 other citations.

The department will conduct additional saturation patrols aimed at deterring drinking and driving.
