Man holds on to stolen car for nearly a block in central Fresno carjacking
A man held on to his car for nearly a block Friday night after a carjacker stole the vehicle as he was finishing a workout at the Sierra Athletic Club in central Fresno.
The victim was dragged from the parking lot of the club to Blackstone and Shaw avenues before letting go, Fresno police Lt. Mindy Casto said.
He had been working out at the club and left his car key in a backpack around 4 p.m. When he left the club at 6 p.m., he noticed his car speeding out of the parking lot and immediately grabbed on, Casto said.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult, and the vehicle is described as a 2005 Silver Lexus ES with license plate number 5MDB940.
The victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of road rash injuries.
