Visalia man arrested on weapons and drug offenses
A Visalia man was arrested on weapons, drugs and other offenses Thursday, Visalia police said.
Police responded to a home in the 1900 block of North Bridge Street in Visalia on Thursday morning and arrested Richard Navarrette, 29, who was wanted for an outstanding warrant.
After searching the home, officers found a loaded handgun and 2.5 ounces of methamphetamine. The handgun was discovered to be stolen out of Monterey County.
The gun and methamphetamine were located in areas accessible to the four children living in the home, police said. Tulare County Protective Services took custody of the four children, ages 4, 5 6 and 11.
Navarrette was booked into the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility on suspicion of child endangerment, possession of stolen property, along with weapons, gang-related and drug offenses.
