Alleged hit-and-run driver who struck 9-year-old boy is arrested in Fresno
A 28-year-old Fresno man was arrested Thursday for alleged hit-and-run that left a 9-year-old boy with a broken leg and bruised lungs.
Danny McClain was arrested when he checked in with his probation officer. He was booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and for violating his probation. He had been convicted of narcotics sales.
The collision occurred Jan. 22 at 6:35 p.m. at Pottle and California avenues. Nine-year-old Deshaun Mitchell pushed his 7-year-old brother out of the way of an oncoming GMC Yukon traveling east on California Avenue.
