Police find chop shop in NW Fresno
Two Bulldog gang members were arrested Tuesday on charges of operating a chop shop and auto theft charges by the Fresno Police Department’s auto theft team.
Sgt. Doug Goertzen said officers were conducting surveillance near Herndon and Weber avenues when two men later identified as Guillermo Silva, 45, and Osbaldo Blancarte, 40, were spotted loading vehicle parts into a pickup. Officers stopped the pair nearby and an investigation led to the discovered of a stripped Chevy pickup stolen on Jan. 25 in northwest Fresno. The engine was installed in Silva’s pickup and the bed of Silva’s pickup was loaded with stolen parts. Both men were booked into the Fresno County Jail.
