Former Central Unified teacher’s aide pleads guilty to marijuana growing
Former Central Unified high school aide Kevin Nouthai Yang pleaded guilty in federal court on Friday to conspiring to cultivate, distribute and possess with intent to distribute marijuana grown on property that he owned in Hayfork in the Shasta Trinity National Forest.
Over 324 pounds of marijuana, 200 marijuana plants and a firearm were seized on Yang’s property after U.S. Forest Service agents served a search warrant. Some of the marijuana grown had already been distributed to Fresno, according to court documents.
Yang, 48, is scheduled for sentencing on May 2, and faces a maximum prison term of 20 years and a $1 million fine.
