Tulare man found guilty of sexual assault on child

A Tulare man was found guilty of child molestation in Tulare County Superior Court on Thursday, District Attorney Tim Ward said.

Thomas Martinez Medina, 76, was found guilty of five felony counts of lewd acts with a child under the age of 14. The jury found that some of the counts included substantial sexual conduct.

The sexual assaults were against a single victim and occurred on two occasions between 2006 and 2014 in Tulare County.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 9 in Tulare County Superior Court, Visalia Division. Medina faces 16 years in state prison and will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
