Woman arrested after ramming Fresno police officer’s car

A 38-year-old woman was arrested in central Fresno on Feb. 2 after driving erratically, ramming her car into the front bumper of a patrol vehicle and running a red light, Fresno Police said.

Antionette Jefferson was taken into custody on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, reckless driving, driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license.

Around 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 2, police were called to the Manchester Mall regarding a reckless driver. Officers discovered Jefferson driving erratically in the parking lot and attempted to stop her using their lights and sirens. Jefferson ignored the officers and swerved to avoid them.

After using her car to ram the front bumper of an officer’s vehicle, Jefferson drove out of the parking lot and ran the red light at Shields Avenue.

She stopped her vehicle near Fresno Street and Shields Avenue and ran down the street, where officers arrested her.
