Police need help finding robber near Fresno State campus

The Fresno State Police Department needs the public’s help in finding a man who robbed two people near Fresno State on Feb. 2.

Just after 9 p.m., as the two victims entered an apartment complex near Shaw and Alamos avenues just south of the campus, they were approached by a man they didn’t know, said police.

Police said the assailant punched the man in the face and stole the woman’s bag, then fled through the apartment complex.

The suspect is believed to be an African-American man, weighing 150 lbs and 6 feet tall and wearing a black hoodie, said police.

Police want to remind the public to not walk alone, stay in well-lit areas, and use emergency blue light phones to contact the Fresno State Police Department.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fresno State Police Department at 559-278-8400.
