Tulare man found guilty of attempted murder in man’s beating
A Tulare County Superior Court jury found Andrew Raygoza, 23, of Tulare, guilty Tuesday of one count of attempted murder in the beating of another man.
On Dec. 5, 2014, Raygoza severely beat a man in Dinuba, kicking him in the head and rendering the victim unconscious in front of an apartment complex on North Dayton Street.
When officers arrested Raygoza on Dec. 15, he said he was asleep in his apartment near the crime scene, although four witnesses identified him.
Raygoza was also convicted of one count of assault, and a “true” finding that the crime was gang-related.
Sentencing is scheduled for March 15, 2016, where Raygoza faces 18 to 22 years in state prison.
