2 arrested after Kings County assault, carjacking
Two men were booked into the Kings County Jail Friday on charges including carjacking and assault with a deadly weapon, sheriff’s spokesman Dave Putnam reported. They were identified as Eliezer Enriquez and Robert Vasquez.
The arrests took place after the pair were apprehended in Avenal, Putnam said. The crime occurred Thursday morning in Hanford, where the victim and witnesses said Enriquez and Valquez confronted the victim in the 11700 block of First Place. Enriquez reportedly tried to stab the victim with a large knife and instead stabbed a woman who was trying to protect the victim. The victim retreated to his car and Enriquez and Vasquez rammed it, forcing the victim to abandon it. The suspect fled in the car, a 2013 Ford Fusion.
