Suspect arrested, 2nd sought in Fulton Mall robberies
One man is in custody and another is sought in connection with a pair of robberies Sunday on the Fulton Mall, Fresno police reported Thursday.
A police spokesman identified the suspects as Marcus Dishoun Nelson, 22, and Brandon Lamont Jones, 26.
Officers who investigated the crimes reported that the suspects brandished a weapon before taking the victims’ property. The victims were able to provide officers with partial descriptions and a partial license number. The spokesman said detective Chris Aranas determined the suspect vehicle might be linked to a northeast Fresno address and spotted a suspect in the vehicle during surveillance. After the vehicle was stopped, Aranas interviewed the occupants and obtained a confession from Nelson.
During a search, detectives found a weapon and identified Jones as a second suspect. Jones is still at large. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
