Probationer suspected of possessing loaded rifle

A 26-year-old probationer was arrested Jan. 16 in southeast Fresno on weapons offenses, police said.

Brian Lee was arrested after police responded to the 4700 block of East Lowe Avenue to conduct a probation search around 10 p.m. on Jan. 16.

Upon entering the home, Lee and several other people were detained. Officers found several spent shell casings, along with a loaded .22-caliber rifle in plain view.

The rifle was not registered and not reported stolen. Police are investigating how the home’s residents acquired the weapon, as well as whether the firearm was used in any recent shootings.
