Hanford man arrested in altercation with knife
A Hanford man was arrested for swinging a knife at his friend during a fight outside of a Hanford bar, police said.
Police responded to the 100 block of North Irwin Street around 10:43 p.m. for reports of two men fighting in the middle of the street with a knife involved, officer Brian Scandura said.
Officers contacted 22-year-old Luis Zuniga in an alley near Huggys Bar and found a black, 3 inch, fold-up knife on him, Scandura said. The victim, Patrick Lara, 22, was found by police in front of the Seqouia Bar.
Police determined Zuniga took out the knife and swung it multiple times at his friend, Lara, during a fight, Scandura said. Lara suffered a cut to his hand and later denied medical treatment.
Zuniga was found to be under the influence of alcohol, Scandura said.
Zuniga was arrested and booked into the Kings County Jail for suspected assault with a deadly weapon, Scandura said. His bail was set at $25,000.
