Southeast Fresno tire shop closed by police for alleged credit fraud
An investigation into credit fraud led to a Fresno man’s arrest and the closing of a southeast Fresno tire shop on Tuesday, Fresno police said.
The Monkey Wrench Tire and Wheel business at 2750 N. Clovis Ave., across the street from Fresno Yosemite International Airport, was closed by police around 10 a.m. after detectives served a search warrant and found evidence of credit fraud, Sgt. Mark Hudson said.
Detectives found fraudulent contracts and records that led to the business being shut down, Hudson said. Lorenzo Lopez, 32, was arrested on seven counts of identity theft and for being a convicted felon in possession of identity theft information.
Eight victims were identified so far, Hudson said.
