Man killed Sunday in east-central Fresno shooting identified
The man who was shot in east-central Fresno on Sunday and later died at the hospital has been identified, the Fresno County Coroner’s Office said.
Fresno police responded around 5:45 p.m. after shots were fired at a home near Olive and Jackson avenues.
Officers found Ceasar Chavez, 28, of Fresno, on the ground with at least two gunshot wounds.
They began performing first aid, and Chavez was transported to Community Regional Medical Center where he was initially reported in critical condition. He later died.
The shooting appeared to be gang-related, police said.
