13-year-old boy booked by Fresno police on charges of driving stolen car

A 13-year-old boy driving a stolen Honda was arrested Monday night in central Fresno, police reported.

Sgt. Skye Leibee said officer Nathan Carr saw the black Accord near McKinley and Brooks avenues just after 10 p.m. The car was traveling on the wrong side of the road so Carr began to make a traffic stop, but the Honda sped away.

The boy and a passenger ditched the car and ran near Channing and Cambridge avenues, Leibee. After a yard-to-yard search by police, the 13-year-old, along with a 15-year-old boy, were taken into custody and booked into juvenile hall. Charges include felony evading and resisting arrest.
