Madera man found guilty of first degree murder
A Madera man was found guilty in Madera County Superior Court of first degree murder, weapons offenses and other gang-related charges, on Jan. 8, Madera County District Attorney’s Office said.
Sergio Novela, 24, faces a life sentence in state prison for five separate crimes that took place between March 21, 2013, and Aug. 2, 2013, according to court documents.
Novela’s trial for the murder of Robert Moreno III started on Nov. 3 and ended with a guilty verdict on Jan. 8.
He faces sentencing on Feb. 8 in Madera County Superior Court.
