Shots rang out in east-central Fresno on Sunday night and left a man critically wounded, Fresno police said.

A call came in around 5:45 p.m. regarding high-caliber shots coming from a home on Olive and Jackson avenues.

Officers responded and found a Hispanic man on the ground with at least two gunshot wounds. They began performing first aid.

The victim was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was in critical condition.

The shooting appeared to be gang related, police said.

“There is a suspect that we are trying to identify, but as of right now there are several aspects of the investigation we have to complete,” Fresno police Lt. Joe Alvarez said.
