Holiday DUI enforcement period in Fresno and Madera counties ends with 113 arrests
The 17-day holiday DUI crackdown ended with 113 people arrested on DUI charges across Fresno and Madera counties, according to provisional numbers provided by the Avoid the 21 campaign.
Officers conducted DUI/drivers license checkpoints and DUI saturation patrols over the period, which lasted from midnight Dec. 18 through midnight Jan. 3. The effort was part of the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.
The Avoid the 21 campaign represents the 21 law enforcement agencies in the two-county area.
