Suspected Fresno auto thief arrested after jumping from moving car
A wanted parolee was caught by Fresno police Wednesday afternoon after he jumped from a moving, stolen vehicle in southwest Fresno.
Police Sgt. Chris Desmond said the incident occurred about 2:30 pm as officers received a report of a victim following their stolen Honda CRV near Martin Luther King Boulevard and North Avenue.
As officers arrived, the driver jumped from the vehicle on nearby Hardy Avenue and ran. The still-moving car stopped in a large puddle.
Teng Vang was arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle. Desmond said he also was arrested for an outstanding warrant for auto theft, and for a warrant for absconding from parole.
