Suspicious death in downtown Fresno home
Fresno police are investigating a suspicious death after the body of a man was found in an abandoned home in downtown Fresno.
Lt. Joe Gomez said officers were dispatched to the area of Blackstone and Belmont avenues after a suspicious call to the California Highway Patrol. An unknown woman had made the call and was running up and down Blackstone and shouting about a dead body. She kept repeating “243 number five.”
A motorcycle officer responding to the call went to a home at 243 N. Blackstone and discovered the body of the man inside the large, two-story home built in the early 1900s. The dead man appeared to be in his 30s.
The man’s identity will be released by the county coroner once relatives have been notified.
