Fresno man arrested for allegedly firing weapon during New Year’s Day celebration
A man was arrested in southwest Fresno after firing several rounds in his front yard during a New Year’s Day party, the Fresno Police Department said.
Hector Orendain, 42, was arrested at his residence in the 800 block of B Street near the Frank H. Ball Community Center after he allegedly fired shots around 10:15 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found shell casings in the front yard, and after speaking with party-goers, arrested Orendain. Officers later found the suspected gun in his home.
Police urge Fresno residents to call in when they see or hear firearms being discharged.
