Police: DUI-related crash in northeast Fresno leaves 8 – including 6 children – with minor injuries
A DUI-related crash in northeast Fresno on Monday night left eight people, most of them children, with minor injuries, Fresno police said.
The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. at Cedar and Shepherd avenues when Sarah Bolin, 39, of Coarsegold, allegedly ran a red light in a Lincoln Navigator while driving east on Shepherd and crashed into a Toyota FJ Cruiser that was making a turn, Lt. Dave Ramos said.
Bolin and her six children suffered minor injuries. She refused treatment for her children after changing her mind multiple times, Ramos said.
The driver of the FJ Cruiser also suffered minor injuries and refused treatment.
Ramos said officers noticed the scent of alcohol on Bolin’s breath. She failed a field sobriety test and was arrested on suspicion of DUI with injuries.
No other information was immediately available.
