Hanford man arrested on Christmas Day after brother struck with broomstick
A Hanford man was arrested on suspicion of hitting his brother in the face with a broomstick during a fight on Christmas Day, police said.
Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of North Harris Street around 8:33 p.m. for a disturbance after family members reported Trevario Young, 37, was fighting with them and might be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Officers found Young and his brother with minor to moderate injuries to their faces. mouth and facial areas. Police said the victim refused medical aid despite his moderate injuries. Young also had some minor injuries.
Police said Young and family members had an argument and Young left the house. He returned an hour later and broke out a window, police said. His brother went out to investigate and was attacked. Young struck his brother in the face with a broomstick.
Young was booked in the Kings County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism. His bail was set at $30,000.
