Officer involved shooting in Porterville on Christmas Eve
A 23-year-old man was shot in an officer involved shooting at a home in Porterville around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
Officers were called for a possible domestic violence call near Putnam and Plano avenues, and were confronted by a suspect with a knife, said Lt. Dominic Barteau.
“The officer feared (for his) life and fired,” said Barteau.
At the time there were three other adults and two children, ages 2 and 10, at the home, said Barteau.
The suspect was taken to Sierra Medical Center for treatment.
The suspect’s condition was unknown Thursday night.
