Man rearrested after driving away from Hanford DUI hearing

An Avenal man who is facing a felony charge in connection with four DUI arrests since 2008 was taken into custody Wednesday after he was stopped by officers after he drove away from a court hearing where he was admonished by a judge not to drive, Hanford police reported.

The man was identified as Valerio Hernandez-Quirino, 37. Police say officers followed Hernandez-Quirino from the hearing and spotted him getting into a car and driving away with a female passenger. He was returned to court, where bail was set at $150,000 and $100,000 for two separate cases pending before the court.
