3 stabbed at northeast Fresno apartment

A 20-year-old man was arrested after three people were stabbed with a steak knife early Monday in northeast Fresno, police reported.

The incident occurred as a group of people were smoking marijuana in an apartment near Cedar and Shaw avenues, police reported.

One of the men suffered a knife wound in his back; he went to a convenience store, then was taken to a hospital. Officers later found another man and a woman who had been stabbed.

Leraye Darnell Hudgens was detained in connection with the assaults. The man and woman were treated for their injuries, as was Hudgens, who had cuts on his hands.

The victims told police they were in a bedroom with Hudgens, who was acting strangely but “was cool.” Then he suddenly began to attack them.
