Visalia man pleads guilty to child sex trafficking
A Visalia man pleaded guilty in Fresno’s federal court Monday to sex trafficking of a minor.
Tyrell Richmond, 33, was arrested in June after the FBI’s Fresno Child Exploitation Task Force and Fresno police detained three 16-year-old runaway girls at a Fresno motel, according to federal court documents.
Richmond had prostituted the girls for about one week, starting in Visalia and then in Fresno, U.S. Attorney Benjamin Wagner said. Richmond collected all the money the girls received and did not permit them to leave their motel rooms, other than to get ice.
Sentencing is scheduled for March 28. Richmond faces up to life in prison and a $250,000 fine.
