Parlier shootings, stabbings mark flareup of gang violence over weekend
Parlier police blame gang activity for a weekend of violence that included gunshots fired at two homes, a stabbing and an assault.
A spokesman said crimes included:
- An assault on a 19-year-old man at 10:34 p.m. Saturday by two other males in the 13000 block of Mulberry Lane. The victim did not cooperate with investigators.
- An incident in the 800 block of I Street at 11:05 p.m. Saturday in which 12 shots were fired into a home. Occupants refused to let officers inside to investigate. No one was injured. Several residents were affiliated with gangs, police said.
- A stabbing at 3:13 a.m. Sunday in the 8500 block of Bella Vista Avenue. The victim, who sustained a minor wound, would not provide details about the incident.
- Another stabbing at 7:26 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of Tuolumne Avenue that occurred after neighbors reported shots fired. Officers at the scene saw a vehicle that matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle. Officers pursued it until it crashed at Mendocino and Young avenues. Two occupants ran and eluded officers.
