Women arrested for allegedly stealing gifts from Clovis porch

Two women were arrested Thursday for allegedly stealing gift packages off a Clovis porch, police said.

Clovis police spokeswoman Janet Stoll-Lee said officers arrived in the 1100 block of Sierra Avenue on Dec. 9 for a theft call. The victim’s surveillance cameras captured two women in a maroon Mercury Milan with major front-end damage commit the crime.

Police caught up to the vehicle on Thursday. They arrested Michelle Beintker, 32, and Crystal Giglio, 30, on probation violation and conspiracy to commit mail theft violations.

U.S. Postal Service inspectors helped investigators search a home in the 900 block of Rosebrook Drive and another in the 3500 block of Hornet Avenue.

Stoll-Lee said police recovered one stolen package and were searching for more.

Giglio and Beintker could also face federal charges for mail theft.
