Tulare County sheriff’s captain arrested on suspicion of DUI
Mike Watson, a captain with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, was placed on paid administrative leave Thursday after he was arrested on Dec. 9 for alleged drunken driving.
Sheriff Mike Boudreaux said the decision to place Watson, who has been with the office for 28 years – three as a captain – on leave “was necessary.” Watson was arrested by the Tulare Police Department, which will be handling the criminal investigation. The sheriff’s office will also be conducting an internal investigation.
Boudreaux declined to comment further, saying it was a personnel matter within the sheriff’s office.
