Porterville police arrest two in drug raid

A man and a woman were arrested at a home being used for drug sales, Porterville police said Wednesday.

About 1:30 p.m. Tuesday after getting complaints of drug activity, police doing a probation compliance check at the home in the 100 block of North Wisconsin Street found a small amount of methampethamine packaged for sale, several hydrocodone pills, drug paraphernalia and evidence of drug sales.

Miguel Garcia, 25, of Porterville, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of hydrocodone for sale, maintaining a residence for drug use, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation.

Teresa Vargas, 27, of Porterville, was arrested on charges of child endangerment and drug use. A 3-year-old was found at the home and a 7-year-old was at school. Both were turned over to child welfare services.

A 49-year-old woman was issued a citation.
