Man expecting to make Tinder connection robbed of cash and car in southeast Fresno
Two men and a woman are sought by police after a man was robbed of his wallet, phone and car early Monday morning in southeast Fresno.
Lt. Joe Gomez said the incident was reported at 4 a.m. at Maple and Fillmore avenues. The victim told officers he went to the area to meet a fellow fraternity member and became lost. Gomez said officers learned later that the victim went to see a woman he met on Tinder, a dating app.
The man said that after he become lost, he tried to check his GPS and stepped out of his car. That’s when he was approached by a female and two males, one armed with a handgun. Officers said the woman apparently wasn’t the person whose photo was on Tinder.
The man was ordered to the ground and his property was taken. The suspects fled in the victim’s 2002 silver Nissan Altima. Its license number is 4ZIR614.
