Criminal charges filed against Veterans Day car thieves

Criminal charges were filed against two people arrested in the theft of a veteran’s two classic cars from a barn in Kerman the night before Veterans Day.

Jennifer Carlton, 38, of Kerman and Thomas Cummings, 34, of Fresno, were charged with felony counts of auto theft and burglary for the thefts of the Chevy Bel-Air and the Chevy El Camino on Nov. 10, according to the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office.

They have also been charged with other unrelated crimes of auto theft, burglary, possession of stolen property, and identity theft.

The defendants remained in custody at the Fresno County Jail Wednesday.
