Woman in wheelchair killed in downtown Fresno hit-and-run
Fresno police are searching for the driver of a white, unmarked van that struck and killed a woman crossing Fulton Street near Stanislaus Street in her wheelchair around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
Police withheld the woman’s identity pending notification of her family.
Police reported the driver stopped after the crash and got out of his car briefly before driving off. A traffic camera captured the moment just before the crash near the Cornerstone Church.
The van is believed to have sustained front-end damage during the crash, police said. Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 559-498-STOP.
