Police seize marijuana, meth, gun in central Fresno

Fresno police seized about 25 pounds of marijuana, one-half pound of methamphetamine and a loaded .45 caliber handgun after serving a warrant Wednesday in the 600 block of North Fourth Street.

Sgt. Justin Hoagland said officers got the warrant because of a shooting in the area two weeks ago. No one was struck by gunfire, but officers recovered .45 caliber shell casings and an investigation determined the targeted home was being used for the cultivation and sale of drugs, Hoagland said.

After seizing the drugs and the handgun, officers arrested Somlith Lasinouvong, 41, on charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to sell and on two outstanding warrants, including one for being a felon in possession of a firearm, and John Her, 30, on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and an outstanding warrant for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Hoagland said Lue Vang, 29, is a suspect in the case and sought on cultivation charges. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
