An alleged shoplifting late Friday night at a River Park department store led to the arrest of a woman driving a stolen car, police say.

Sgt. Doug Goertzen said police received a call from Kohl’s just after 11:30 p.m. that a woman had just shoplifted from the store and left in a gray 2015 Chrysler 300. Workers gave officers the license plate number and police learned the car was reported stolen.

About 10 minutes after the shoplifting call, officers spotted the car southbound on Highway 41 near Shields Avenue. They pulled it over and arrested Elizabeth Gonzalez, 32, of Fresno. She was booked into the Fresno County Jail on felony auto theft-related charges.
