2 minors, 1 adult arrested for southwest Fresno shooting of rival gang member

Three people – two of them minors – were arrested in connection with the assault of a Reedley gang member in October who was shot in the head, the Fresno Police Department said.

David Diaz, 30, and two unidentified minors were arrested for the crime, police said.

On Oct. 15, officers responded to a call near Modoc and Stanislaus streets about shots fired. They found a Norteño gang member from Reedley shot and conscious.

Police said the victim was uncooperative and would not provide details of the shooting. He was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Detectives found that the three had prior problems with the victim, police said. On Oct. 20, detectives re-interviewed one of the them and got a confession.

On Oct. 22, police searched a house on South Modoc Street and found two zip guns, which are homemade guns.

Diaz was booked into Fresno County Jail and the minors were booked into the Juvenile Justice Campus. All three were booked for assault with a deadly weapon with gang enhancements.
