Victim identified in Tulare murder; suspects arrested

Jimmy Ansiel Jr., 42, of Tulare was arrested Saturday in Contra Costa County in connection in the murder of 68-year-old Roma Reid. Ansiel was booked on suspicion of murder.

The 68-year-old Tulare woman found murdered on Oct. 21 was identified as Roma Reid on Saturday.

Reid was discovered by officers at her house around 2 p.m. in response to a welfare check after she failed to attend a appointment.

Tulare police and the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant in Byron and arrested Jimmy Ansiel Jr., 42, of Tulare and Tara Leeann Steinman, 42, of Nevada in connection in the murder.

Ansiel was booked on suspicion of murder and Steinman was booked for allegedly being an accessory.

Roma’s death marked the ninth homicide in Tulare this year.
