Two men arrested in shooting at Madera Park

Two men were arrested in connection to a shooting at McNally Park in Madera on Oct. 2 in which one teenager was shot in the face, Madera police detectives announced Tuesday.

Police say Jose Sanchez, 18, and David Cardenas, 18, were shooting at multiple individuals in the park, striking the teenager and a nearby home.

Detectives believe the shooting to be gang-related, as both suspects are known gang members.

Sanchez and Cardenas were booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections on numerous charges, including attempted murder and committing the act for the benefit of a gang.
