Armed man robs southeast Fresno recycling business

Fresno police are looking for a man who robbed robbed a southeast Fresno recycling business at gunpoint early Tuesday.

About 8:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to Kyle’s Recyclables at 2217 E. Belmont Ave. There, they were told a man with a handgun stole money from the business along with four workers’ wallets. About $1,000 was taken, police Lt. Joe Gomez said.

The workers were ordered into a large container and told not to come out, Gomez said.

The suspect took off in a green Ford Explorer that Gomez said may have been carjacked earlier Tuesday in the 500 block of South Cedar Avenue. The Explorer has California license plate 3NLR401.

Gomez said the suspect was Hispanic, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6 tall with a thin build. He wore a black short-sleeve shirt and blue jeans.
