A gang member was arrested early Sunday after getting caught trying to steal from Roosevelt High School in southeast Fresno, police said.
Fresno police responded to the burglary in progress at 3 a.m. A security guard at the school saw a broken window and alerted police to the suspect, Vincent Garcia, who was still on campus.
Officers found Garcia, 32, in between school buildings, pretending to be asleep. They identified him as a gang member.
Garcia was still wearing latex gloves and had a screwdriver and bolt cutters. He told police he wanted to steal something he could later sell, but the security guard spooked him before could take anything.
