Two juveniles and an 18-year-old man were arrested early Thursday following the robbery of two people out for a walk late Wednesday near Shaw and West avenues, police reported.

The victims told officers they were walking in the 4800 block of North West Avenue when three suspects got out of a tan Toyota sedan and confronted them. Two of the suspects had handguns and demanded their property. The suspects went through the victims’ pockets before leaving in the car.

Officers were interviewing the victims when a car matching the description of the suspects’ vehicle drove by. Officers pursued the car and three suspects jumped out and fled in different directions.

One of the suspects was found hiding in a backyard in the 4600 block of North Ila Avenue. A second was located under a car. The third was taken into custody after he was seen behind shrubbery in the 4800 block of North Warren Avenue.

The robbery victims identified the three as the bandits, police said. Two are 17-year-old juveniles and the third was identified as Emodjea York, 18.
