Boy in Fresno carried loaded gun, police say

A 17-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday in Fresno after police said he carried a loaded and concealed semi-automatic firearm.

Police were driving through the area of Peach and Olive avenues when they saw a group of people loitering.

When police tried to contact the group, they split up and ran in opposite directions.

Officers later found the 17-year-old boy, who was in the group.

Police said the boy refused to take his hands out of his pockets, but officers searched him and they found the gun.

The boy was charged with multiple felony weapons charges and booked into Fresno County Juvenile Hall.
