Apparent family disturbance puts man in Fresno hospital with gunshot wound
What appears to be a family disturbance put one man in the hospital after he was shot in the leg west of Highway 99 on Wednesday night, the Fresno Police Department said.
Police responded to a call of a shooting at 10:30 p.m. at a house in the 4200 block of Bain Avenue near Ashlan and Hayes avenues.
The victim, a man in his 30s, had already driven away from the scene by a friend when police arrived, said Lt. Ron Hughes.
When they got to Shaw and Marks avenues, they decided to stop and call for an ambulance rather than go to the hospital themselves.
The victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, Hughes said.
Police detained one man at the Bain Avenue location, and they found a firearm. No other information on the shooting or the suspect was immediately available.
